Our Past Programs: Building Experience Through Impact

Immersion Nepal has facilitated numerous meaningful volunteer and immersion programs in collaboration with our trusted partner organization in Nepal. Each program is designed to create authentic cultural exchanges while contributing to sustainable community development across various regions of Nepal.

Program 1: Community Impact: Sports Material Distribution – August 2025

Dates:August 4, 2025 (one-day event, completed)
Location:Women's Business Center, Tinpiple – Jitpurphedi, Nepal
Participants:Local women, children, and community leaders

This program focused on distributing sports materials to local communities to promote physical activity, joy, and community bonding among marginalized groups, particularly women and children. It aimed to foster hope and gratitude through interactive sessions. Our team provided on-ground support and coordination.

  • Interactive sessions on the importance of physical activity for health and empowerment
  • Community celebrations emphasizing gratitude and collective impact

Impact & Outcomes:

The event brought joy and a sense of community empowerment, with participants expressing gratitude for the resources that enhanced recreational opportunities. It contributed to our broader goals of holistic development by promoting physical and emotional well-being.

Program 2: Rescue and Educational Materials Distribution – July 2025

Dates:June 15, 2025 (distribution event, completed by July 18, 2025 reporting)
Location:Nishankhe, Okhaldhunga, Nepal
Participants:Multiple communities; impacted thousands through our networks

This initiative distributed over NPR 1 million worth of rescue and educational materials to empower rural communities, focusing on education and disaster preparedness. It targeted marginalized areas to enhance learning and safety. Our team provided on-ground support and coordination.

Highlights & Activities:

  • Distribution of educational resources like books, stationery, and learning aids
  • Provision of rescue materials for disaster-prone areas
  • Community workshops on using the materials for long-term empowerment

Impact & Outcomes:

The distribution empowered local schools and families, improving access to education and preparedness tools. It aligned with our mission, leading to enhanced community resilience and educational opportunities for children in remote areas.

Program 3: Children's Development Program – Ongoing to 2024 (Completed Phase)

Dates:2008–2024 (multi-year phase completed; based on 17+ years of sustained ECD centers)
Location:Okhaldhunga, Kathmandu Valley, Kavre, Nuwakot, Dhading, Rasuwa, Sindhuli, Chitwan, Nepal
Participants:71,432 children supported overall; 5,000+ engaged annually in clubs

This long-term program supported holistic child development through education, life skills, and protection initiatives in marginalized communities. It addressed out-of-school children and limited early development opportunities. Our team provided on-ground support and coordination.

Highlights & Activities:

  • Establishment and sustenance of Early Childhood Development (ECD) centers
  • Children's life-skills clubs, leadership activities, and sponsorships
  • School infrastructure improvements, teacher training, and parenting education

Impact & Outcomes:

Sustained 55 ECD centers for 17+ years, sponsored 720 children for education, and trained 4,500+ teachers, leading to higher school completion rates and confident, thriving children.

Program 4: Women's Empowerment & Gender Equality Program – Ongoing to 2024 (Completed Phase)

Dates:2009–2024 (multi-year phase completed; based on 16+ years of cooperatives)
Location:Okhaldhunga, Jitpur Phedi, Kathmandu Valley, and other rural districts in Nepal
Participants:32,035 women empowered

This program empowered women through entrepreneurship, rights education, and cooperatives to achieve economic independence and leadership. It tackled gender-based violence, unequal pay, and property ownership issues. Our team provided on-ground support and coordination.

Highlights & Activities:

  • Micro-credit cooperatives for savings, loans, and enterprise capital
  • Literacy, finance, and leadership training
  • Prevention of trafficking and gender-based violence advocacy

Impact & Outcomes:

Launched 300+ women-led micro-enterprises, registered 4 cooperatives with 500–1,100 members each, and improved health for 4,000+ women, fostering dignity and community leadership.

Program 5: Public Health & Medical Care Program – Ongoing to 2024 (Completed Phase)

Dates:2005–2024 (foundational phase completed; based on cumulative health impacts)
Location:Okhaldhunga, Tinpiple, Kathmandu Valley, and rural districts across Nepal
Participants:156,188 people reached

This program promoted community health through clinics, hygiene education, and infrastructure to prevent disease and improve access to care. It addressed high maternal mortality, water access, and child stunting. Our team provided on-ground support and coordination.

Highlights & Activities:

  • Mobile health camps and community clinics
  • WASH initiatives like toilets and water systems
  • Health education for schools and adolescents

Impact & Outcomes:

Treated 20,689 patients, built 3,000+ toilets (5 villages Open-Defecation Free), installed 111 water systems, and trained 5,000+ children in hygiene, significantly reducing health risks.
